दही को मथने पर ही नवनीत की प्राप्ति होती है। बिना मथे कभी भी मक्खन प्राप्त नहीं होता। उसी प्रकार हमारे जीवन का जब मंथन होता है तभी हमें गुण रूपी नवनीत उपलब्ध हो सकता है। भोग वासना में आसक्त मनुष्य किस प्रकार अपनी जीवन लीला की समाप्ति कर लेते हैं यह इस चित्र में भली-भांति प्रकटि से समझा जा सकता है। जैसे दीपक की लौ की सुन्दरता से आकृष्ट होकर पतंगे उस पर मंडराते हुए आखिर उसी लौ से जलकर मर जाते हैं उसी प्रकार भोगी मनुष्य रूप आदि में आसक्त होकर अपने जीवन को समाप्त कर लेते हैं।
पुराने समय में अनेक सामाजिक कुरीतियां प्रचलित थी। उसमें एक कुप्रथा थी- अनमेल विवाह। दोनों पक्ष के वर-वधू में जब उम्र की लम्बी दूरी हो तब अनमेल विवाह कहलाता है। यह समाज की दयनीय स्थिति का दर्शन है। चोरी एक ऐसा कर्म है, जिससे व्यक्ति इहलोक में भी निन्दा का पात्र बन दण्ड पाता है तथा परलोक में भी सजा का हकदार बन जाता है। वहां उसे नानाविध प्रकार से प्रताड़ित किया जाता है, तकलीफ दी जाती है। एक महिला द्वारा धर्मरुचि नामक अणगार को विषैला पदार्थ भिक्षार्थ दिया गया। गुरुदेव ने अपने ज्ञान से रहस्य खोल इसे परठने का आदेश दिया। उस विषैले तत्त्व को समाप्त करने हेतु मुनि जंगल गए, वहां एक बूंद के गिरते ही सैकड़ो चिटियां आकर्षित होते हुए उस पदार्थ को खाते हुए प्राण विसर्जित करती गई। इस दृश्य ने धर्मरुचि अणगार का मन प्रकंपित कर दिया। अपने उदर को निरवध अर्थात् पूर्ण शुद्ध स्थान मानकर उस विषैले आहार को स्वीकार कर अपने प्राणों का उत्सर्ग कर दिया।
Fresh butter is obtained only when curd is churned. Butter is never obtained without churning. Similarly, it is only when our life undergoes churning that the butter-like virtues can become available to us. How human beings attached to sensual pleasures end their life story can be well understood from this picture. Just as moths, attracted by the beauty of a lamp's flame, hover around it and ultimately burn to death in that very flame, similarly, pleasure-seeking humans end their lives by becoming attached to form and appearance.
In ancient times, many social evils were prevalent. Among them was an evil practice—mismatched marriage (Anmel Vivah). When there is a vast age gap between the bride and groom, it is called a mismatched marriage. This reflects the pathetic state of society. Theft is a deed that makes a person an object of condemnation and punishment in this world, and also makes them deserving of punishment in the next world. There, they are tortured and given trouble in various ways. A toxic substance was given as alms to an ascetic named Dharmaruchi by a woman. The Gurudev, revealing the secret through his knowledge, ordered him to dispose of it. To discard that poisonous element, the monk went to the forest, where as soon as a single drop fell, hundreds of ants were attracted to it, ate that substance, and sacrificed their lives. This sight shook ascetic Dharmaruchi's mind. Considering his own stomach as a faultless and completely pure place, he consumed that poisonous food and sacrificed his life.
